Kirkby Lonsdale is in Cumbria’s south east in between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales; an historic market town in an area of great natural beauty with riverside and country walks.

There are many riverside and country walks in the area, and historic buildings to see in the town itself, including the 11th century Norman parish church. Further north lays Kirkby Stephen at the head of the Eden Valley, a popular centre for walkers and situated on the Cumbria Cycle Way – a great route for all keen cyclists.

Half an hour’s drive from Kirkby Stephen is the beautiful area of Silverdale - an Area of Outstanding Beauty, offering a truly inspiring escape from the pace and pressures of everyday life. Don’t miss the headland of Jack Scout leading to Jenny Brown’s Point. From here, look out across the bay to see Humphrey Head where, so legend has it, the last wolf in England was slain.
