If sea fishing is more your thing then Yorkshire’s long coastline of pretty fishing harbours are just the place to hire boats that will take you to the very best off shore fishing areas.

This is a very large natural water with inlet streams and outlet streams around its length.

Both these Yorkshire Water run reservoirs are very good rainbow trout fisheries with some wild brown trout present

Set in North Yorkshire and easily accessed off the A1 and A19, Stonebridge Fishing Lakes offer great Trout and Carp fishing.

Take a trip on one of Scarborough's angling boats, the Skylark. Skylark Fishing Trips run from the slipway on the South Bay.

The lake is set in 24 acres of magnificent grounds of a large hotel and makes for a peaceful days fly fishing. Both boat and bank fly fishing are available. The Coniston Hall lake is open for fly fishing from 1st April to 1st October inclusive.

Situated in the hills and moors above Masham, in Wensleydale and at 105 acres this is quite a large lake in an exposed position, but it has outstanding fly fishing for quality rainbow trout which run quite large.

There is plenty of countryside here to admire as the fishery is set near to the famous white horse at Kilburn. The water covers two acres and is open all year round.

Kilnsey Park is a working trout farm close to Grassington and Kettlewell.The lakes are stocked with home-grown rainbow, blue, golden and brown trout. There is also a farm shop, farm animals and red squirrel nature trail on site.

Malham Tarn is a fertile lake but it is also very exposed to the elements.Boat only fly fishing for wild brown trout. Managed by the Yorkshire Dales National Park there are also some great marked footpaths to explore.

Nidderdale Angling Club - have trout fishing and grayling fishing on around seven miles of the River Nidd

The scenery in the Richmond area is outstanding, particularly upstream of the town. Good fly fishing for brown trout and grayling

Bainbridge is the only place that you can get day tickets for the River Bain with it being such a short river - the shortest in England at about two miles!

A wild brown trout lake in an exposed position at the head of Nidderdale, but it does provide excellent fly fishing in the right conditions

This Reservoir sits on the edge of Skipton and is a fairly unique construction. An ideal bed for small fish to hide away from the waters larger fish!
