Lumley Cottage is a delightful, stone-built cottage tucked away quietly in the pretty village of Thornton-le-Dale in the North Yorks Moors National Park. To the rear of the property is a secluded courtyard garden – perfect for relaxing on a summer's evening. The market town of Pickering is only 3 miles away, home to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway from where it is possible to travel on the steam train to Whitby passing through the beautiful scenery of ‘Heartbeat Country'. The vast Dalby Forest is just on the doorstep with plenty of opportunities for outdoor pursuits including the ‘Go Ape' assault course. The village is an ideal base from which to explore the many attractions which this area of North Yorkshire has to offer visitors.
