Situated in the pretty village of Thornton-le-Dale close to Pickering in the heart of the North York Moors, South View Cottage is a delightful 200 year old end cottage. The cottage is fully equipped and a delightful enclosed garden to the rear is ideal for those with pets or children to enjoy. The cottage also has a z bed suitable for a child. The village of Thornton-le-Dale is well served with good pubs, shops and tea rooms. The village is traditional with popular green and a pretty stream running through it. Walks can be accessed direct from the door.

The bustling market town of Pickering, around 3 miles away, is known as the gateway to the North York Moors National Park and one of the oldest towns in the district complete with a castle. Visit the 18 mile scenic North York Moors Railway which starts at Pickering, meandering through the heather clad moorland and villages captured in the TV series 'Heartbeat' en route to Whitby. The coastal town of Scarborough can be easily accessed with sandy beaches and amusements making South View Cottage ideal for those wishing to explore the area.
