The Old King's Head, which was formerly an 18th century inn, is a delightful, spacious cottage that has had a full restoration in 2004 and now provides modern, comfortable accommodation to suit all families and couples. It is perfectly positioned in a quiet courtyard only 50 yards from the centre of the picturesque market town of Pickering and overlooking a tranquil churchyard.The peaceful location is broken only by the chiming of the church clock. It has been decorated and furnished to a high standard and the wood burning stoves gives a welcoming, cosy feel to the property. It is in an ideal location for exploring the North York Moors with some excellent walking and cycle paths close by, including some challenging cycle tracks in the nearby Dalby forest, which is a great day out and has a Go Ape assault course, which is ideal for all ages to enjoy.

Property is heated by a gas fired boiler and comprises:
Lounge: With Free view LCD TV, DVD, radio, CD player, Wi-fi access and multi fuel stove
Kitchen/Diner: With gas double oven and 8 ringed gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine

First floor

Bedroom 1: With king size bed
Bedroom 2: With twin beds
Bathroom 1: With shower over bath, wash basin and WC

Second floor

Bedroom 3: With king size cast iron bed, single bed and traditional assembled cot and en suite shower room, with walk in shower, WC, wash basin and walk in dressing room


All power, heating, bed linen and towels are included. One bag of logs provided. Cot and high chair available


Private parking in courtyard for 2 cars. Children's play area in basement. Internet available, however there is a limit on the usage. If guests go over this limit there will be a charge for what they use (The usage is 2.5GB)

Pickering itself has a lot to offer with local markets twice a  week, many restaurants and pubs, and a North Yorkshire Moors Railway station makes a trip on a steam train a most enjoyable, memorable experience. It will take you to Goathland (otherwise known as Heartbeat Country), Grosmont and then onto the fishing town of Whitby, with its cobbled streets and famous Fish and Chips. Pickering is in a central location not only to explore the North York Moors but also for a great days out within a 20 mile radius, including Flamingo Land theme park and zoo, the beautiful historic city of York, the seaside town of Scarborough with numerous activities for the whole family to enjoy.
