Description

This end terraced house is situated in the centre of Filey, with a beautiful large sweeping beach which never seems crowded due to the sheer size of it. You can walk from Filey to Reighton Gap along the lovely flat sandy beach, where children can run around or build sandcastles as well as take a donkey ride. Filey is a very traditional resort with a long promenade and a cobbled landing down to the fishing boats. The Cleveland Way finishes in Filey, all 110 miles of it. Where this trail finishes, the Wolds Way starts with 79 miles of stunning countryside across the beautiful Wolds making Filey perfect for leisure walkers or the hikers amongst you. The rugged cliff tops lead you up the coast to Flamborough Head, Scarborough and towards Whitby. The RSPB cliffs at Bempton are very special as this is where you can see thousands of puffins, guillemots and kittiwakes as well as the odd seal sunbathing. Yorkshire is famous for its market towns and there’s plenty within a short drive. Beverley, known as one of Yorkshire’s best kept secrets, is well worth a visit with its quaint streets and market square. Driffield, Pickering and Malton are all vibrant market towns. Take the family to Flamingo Land theme park and zoo, or Go Ape in the Dalby Forest. Along the coast at Scarborough there’s the sea life centre where you can see the large aquarium with sharks and have fun watching the seal show. Beach 200 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 25 yards.

About the local area

Scarborough is situated at the southern end of the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and, together with Filey, offers beautiful beaches, coastal walks and a variety of entertainment for the whole family.

Scarborough is a town of two halves, with South Bay full of amusement arcades, fish and chip shops and donkey rides, whilst the more genteel North Bay is home to several parks and grand Victorian buildings. The whole family will want to take a trip on the miniature North Bay Railway, which will take you to Sea Life Centre and to the Historic Water Chute and Boating Lake, where you can have a go on the amazing Water Walkers.

Filey is a small traditional seaside town, home to an award-winning museum and a nature reserve that is a haven for wild birds. The town is situated at the eastern end of The Cleveland Way, a long- distance footpath that skirts the Yorkshire Moors and has many beautiful walks with stunning views to offer. Children will enjoy a visit to Funland with its rides and arcades, perhaps followed by a visit to nearby Glen Gardens, which boasts a boating lake and children's play area.

Within easy reach is the famous Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, which has something to offer every member of the family, from thrilling white-knuckle rides to children's entertainment. For something really out of the ordinary, pay a visit to Pesky Husky, where you can take part in a kennel tour followed by walk or even a trek with these charismatic dogs.
