Filey Beach

Filey, on the North Yorkshire coast, is a charming historic fishing town that has transformed itself into a modern seaside destination, while maintaining its original character. Its lovely sandy beaches, adventure sports and rich wildlife ensure that it has something to inspire every visitor.

Filey beach boasts wonderful golden sands that stretch for five miles along the dramatic Yorkshire coastline. Along the beach are plenty of children's rides and traditional amusements. To the north is Filey Brigg, a rocky outcrop where you can enjoy lovely rock-pools, bird watching, dramatic scenery and an ancient 'pier' that can be seen at low tide.

The beach is also a great place to enjoy some water sports. A gentle ride in a sailing boat or some fishing is a relaxing way to spend an afternoon here. If you are feeling more adventurous, Filey beach also offers surfing and diving too.

This beautiful seaside resort has maintained some of its Victorian roots and the 'Old Town' is one of the best places to glimpse this history. While this area has seen some modern redevelopment, much of its original character has remained.

Filey's award-winning gardens are elegant and well maintained. The Edwardian Crescent gardens are a particular treat with a great bandstand at its heart, where you can enjoy some excellent summer concerts.
