Haven Cottage is a delightful stone built cottage with lots of character and dates back to the 17th century. The welcoming open fire gives it a cosy 'home from home' feeling. Centrally positioned to explore the coastal resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey, to the East, and also the market towns of Pickering and Helmsley to the West, which are all within easy reach and all beautiful places to visit. Dalby Forest, only 8 miles away is a fantastic day out for all the family with ample walking and cycle paths through the forest or the kids can enjoy ' Go Ape' the famous assault course situated high up in the trees. The beautiful historic City of York is less than an hour away. Snainton itself is a very pretty village with a pub, restaurant, shop and garage all within 100 yards from the property.
If you enjoy fishing, Wykeham Lakes are only 4 miles away and are a superb venue offering trout and coarse fishing in five individual lakes set in beautiful countryside. Snainton also has its own golf course for enthusiasts and is an excellent course. The North Yorkshire Moors Steam train from Pickering to Whitby is a must for everyone. It travels along the stunning Esk Valley line stopping at Grosmont and Goathland (Heartbeat Country) and ends up at the quaint fishing town of Whitby famous for its unrivalled Fish and Chips.
