About the local area
Filey has one of the best beaches in the country and also an unspoilt seafront and beautiful promenade, that is ideal for a stroll on a summers evening. It is a very popular resort for families who return year after year to savour the town's charms. There are many activities to enjoy for all ages and abilities including surfing, sailing, swimming, pony rides and fishing trips. It is also a haven for walkers and cyclists with the famous Cleveland Way finishing/starting at Filey Brigg. Filey is centrally located between the beautiful coastal resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington, which are both a great day out. Flamborough Head, just 15 miles away has many amazing places to visit from the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs, the stunning beaches at Thornwick bay, North Landing, Selwicks Bay, South Landing, Danes Dyke and Sewerby. Perched high on the cliffs above Bridlington Bay is Sewerby Hall and Gardens, which is a great place to visit
