The Sea Life centre is a great family day out or you could visit, The Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre or take a trip out on one of the pleasure cruises, speed boats or fishing trips available. The open air theatre, which is the largest in Europe has some excellent events throughout the year and it is a short walk to The Stephen Joseph Theatre In The Round and a variety of restaurants and cosy real ale pubs. There are numerous activities in Scarborough for all ages including swimming, surfing, sailing, golfing, fishing, paint ball, Lazer Quest, indoor go carting, bowling, cinemas and lots more. Just a short drive will take you to the North Yorkshire National Park, including Dalby Forest, which is a great place to visit for outdoor enthusiasts, with the famous Go Ape assault course that the kids will love. Nearby in Pickering you can board the North Yorkshire Moors steam train that will take you on a trip to remember through the glorious Esk Valley to Goathland and Whitby.
