This Grade II Listed property has the perfect harbourside location- stunning sea views on all 3 floors to the rear, while the front door opens onto the High Street of this popular fishing village of Staithes. Ash Cottage is a delightful 200 year old fisherman's cottage which has recently been restored. The lounge, completely renovated in 2010 now has exposed stonework and a cosy wood burning stove, and offers stunning sea views from the dining table. The first floor bedroom is spacious and with views of the sea, and a guest area on the second floor has a day bed and an additional TV/DVD (but with a steep staircase and no stairgate- young children please be careful!) The twin room is accessed via the guest area. Bench seating to the rear overlooking the sea is perfect to enjoy at anytime of day and the sandy beach is a mere 5 minute walk away, as are the pubs serving food, shops, cafes and Staithes Heritage Centre and Captain Cook Museum where you may learn about the life and voyages of this famous seaman who spent some of his childhood as an apprentice in Staithes.Read more about Ash Cottage

Back door to the cottage with access to bench seating with views across to the harbour and out to sea (not enclosed). Please note: there is no parking in Staithes village - the owners have a garage at the top of the village which you may park in front of free of charge. Alternative parking is in the car park - a a permit may be obtained for the week which also grants access to other car parks within the borough. There are steep stairs in the cottage, not suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Bracing cliff top walks along the 'Cleveland Way' can be accessed from the village and numerous other walks throughout the National Park are a short drive away. The bustling fishing port of Whitby is a short drive away where you may sample excellent fish and chips, the 199 steps towards the gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey or simply wander through the quaint cobbled streets. The North York Moors also offer an abundance of activities including walking, cycling, sailing and more.
It's a great property - really enjoyed it (and would be very happy to book it again in the future) - great location, very well upgraded and maintained, love the decoration and furniture etc.
