The best views of the village can be enjoyed from the Cleveland Way which runs down the Cliffside to the sea’s edge and covers 110 miles passing through some beautiful resorts like Runswick Bay, Sandsend and Whitby. Staithes is one of the most photographed villages in Yorkshire and claims connections with Captain Cook, who was apprernticed to a draper near the harbour. Nowadays, Staithes is a must for anyone visiting the Yorkshire Coast and has a good selection of pubs, shops, tea rooms and an Art Gallery. Staithes is also well known for its group of Victorian artists and art classes which are still very popular today.
