The Cleveland Way that stretches 110 miles along the cliff top can be picked up just a couple of miles away at the picturesque fishing village of Staithes. Staithes is one of the most photographed villages in Yorkshire and claims connections with the explorer Captain James Cook with its quaint shops, inns and tea rooms and is well worth a visit. There are a number of pretty resorts along this coastline including Runswick Bay, Sandsend, Robin Hood's Bay and the historic fishing port of Whitby which are all perfect for a day out at the seaside.
The Victorian beach resort of saltburn is only 10 miles away and has a beautiful promenade and beach which is ideal for dog walking or for a stroll on a summers evening. For those outdoor enthusiasts there are many activities close by including the Borrowby Equestrian centre just 1/2 mile away where you can enjoy pony trekking over the moors and the yacht centre at scaling dam where you can hire a small yacht and sail across the dam.
