Margold Cottage is a delightful mid terrace cottage oozing charm and character and situated in a tranquil position on the edge of the village green. A small enclosed garden sits to the front of the cottage with bench seating overlooking the green and trickling waters of the river beyond. Danby is home to a pub serving food and a small delicious bakery, with the Danby Moors Centre easily accessible, along with the neighbouring village of Castleton.

Danby is situated some 13 miles from the bustling fishing port of Whitby, and close to the pretty Moors village's of Grosmont and Goathland, better known as Aidensfield in the hit TV series of Heartbeat. From Whitby, the North York Moors Steam Railway line runs through the dramatic scenery of the Moors, en route to the popular market town of Pickering, complete with castle.
