Whitby is under 2 miles away and the frequent tour bus is an ideal way to see all the beautiful sights including the stunning Abbey and St Mary's Church on the cliff top overlooking the harbour. You could also take a trip out on one of the pleasure boats where you can enjoy a trip around the harbour and out to sea where you can view Whitby in all its glory. Whitby hosts many events and festivals throughout the year including Sixties weekends, Soul weekends, Goth weekends and many more making Whitby a very popular place to visit. There are also a large selection of pubs, quaint antique, gift shops and famous fish and chip shops. Whitby is surrounded by spectacular scenery of the North York Moors which you can enjoy by taking either the Esk Valley train that takes you to Middlesbrough stopping at the pretty villages along the way or the excellent North York Moor steam train that will take you from Whitby to the lovely market town of Pickering stopping off at Goathland otherwise known as 'Heartbeat Country'. The lovely coastal resorts of Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay are all within close proximity and are well worth a visit.
