It has been beautifully furnished and decorated to an extremely high standard offering excellent accommodation and a great base to explore the Yorkshire Coast and the North York Moors National Park areas. Newholm is in a beautiful location and the village and surroundings are perfect for families with children. There is a real, traditional pub nearby that serves excellent home cooked meals with a roaring fire and warm welcome. Newholm Green Cottage is also ideal for cyclists and keen ramblers with numerous walks and cycle tracks direct from your front door including the famous 110 mile Cleveland way that can be located just 1 mile away in the pretty resort of Sandsend.

About the local area

Sandsend is a great day out for all the family with its 3 miles of golden sands and quaint pubs and restaurants making it a perfect day trip to the sea side.  Whitby is under 2 miles away and the frequent tour bus is an ideal way to see all the beautiful sights including the stunning Abbey and St Mary's Church on the cliff top overlooking the harbour. You could also take a trip out on one of the pleasure boats where you can enjoy a trip around the harbour and out to sea where you can view Whitby in all its glory. Whitby hosts many events and festivals throughout the year including Sixties weekends, Soul weekends, Goth weekends and many more making Whitby a very popular place to visit. There are also a large selection of pubs, quaint antique, gift shops and famous fish and chip shops. Whitby is surrounded by spectacular scenery of the North York Moors which you can enjoy by taking either the Esk Valley train that takes you to Middlesbrough stopping at the pretty villages along the way or the excellent North York Moor steam train that will take you from Whitby to the lovely market town of Pickering stopping off at Goathland otherwise known as 'Heartbeat Country'. The lovely coastal resorts of Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay are all within close proximity and are well worth a visit.
