Description

Rocklea is one of a group of pretty Grade 2 listed fisherman's cottages in the heart of this charming beach and fishing village. It has recently been renovated to a very high standard whilst retaining it's beams and original features. It is warm and cosy and has been designer decorated and furnished - not from a car boot sale! Two beautiful bathrooms, with high quality towels, complete the first class amenities. PLEASE NOTE - Unlike many cottages in Staithes, Rocklea includes a car park permit, worth over £40pw and all power and fuel, including eco logs - not just an initial supply. Central heating is via an innovative thermal store system. There are two double bedrooms and a single with a full size pull out bed, all with high quality linen.  Look at our reviews and come to Rocklea for a great break, with complimentary wine on arrival

About the local area

Staithes is still a working fishing village and is one of the most photographed villages in Yorkshire and claims connections with the explorer Captain James Cook, who was apprenticed to a draper near the harbour. It is an ideal location for walkers and the best views of the village can be enjoyed from the Cleveland Way which runs down the Cliffside to the sea's edge and covers 110 miles passing through some beautiful resorts like Runswick Bay, Sandsend and Whitby. The historic town of Whitby, famous for its connections with Bram Stoker's book, Dracula and also its delicious Fish and Chips is a great day out for all the family. The 3 miles of golden sands are ideal for a relaxing day at the sea-side, or you can take a tour bus to all the local sights including the stunning Abbey, or why not take a trip on the pleasure boats that run every hour and take you around the harbour where you can appreciate the beautiful sights of Whitby.
