Mill Top is a sunny second floor apartment within this delightful mill conversion, situated to the front of the building and overlooking the River Aire, gardens and valley beyond with the mill race and pond to the rear. There are many places where you can sit outside and enjoy a drink, a picnic or read a book. 'It is just a ten minute walk to the local pub which serves good food and Real Ale.Scalegill can be found nestling in Malhamdale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales approximately 1 mile from the pretty village of Kirkby Malham with excellent walks direct from the mill to Malham Cove, Gordale Scar and Janet's Foss.  Birdlife is prolific, with dippers nesting under the building, heron fishing in the river, goldfinches, and flocks of long-tailed tits and if you are lucky, you may even see a kingfisher!

Such a delightful spot! We enjoyed watching the birds and listening to the river. The walks were fantastic. We'll be back! Oh yes, and I enjoyed bell ringing with such an enthusiastic group.

We have had a fantastic week - plenty of walking around the Malhamdale area - only used the car once for a trip into Settle. (Market day is on a Tuesday.)
The flat is everything you could ask for and the bird feeder an added bonus.
'The Victoria' at Kirkby Malham we would highly recommend.
