High Beck Cottage is a delightful cottage set within the owners stables in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales countryside. The area is famous for breeding and training racehorses and the owner would be happy to show anyone around the stables on request to meet the racehorses to the rear of the cottage. Once housing the cast of the TV series 'All Creatures Great and Small', the cottage is cosy and welcoming with an open fire in the lounge, and views over the surrounding countryside from the bedrooms. The cottage also has a shared gravelled area with furniture which is perfect for enjoying in the summer months. Coverham is ideal for the outdoor enthusiast or those seeking a peaceful retreat, with an abundance of open countryside to explore direct from the door. Nearby Middleham houses the ruins of a 15th Century castle, and the village is also famous for training racehorses which can be seen training on a daily basis on the ‘gallops’. In Coverham the Forbidden Corner is a visitor attraction with a difference, with follies and labyrinths to explore, and is perfect for any age! The area also has some excellent pubs serving food including the Wensleydale Heifer in West Witton and the Three Horseshoes in Wensley, both of which are just a couple of miles away.
Leyburn has many amenities including shops, pubs and restaurants not to mention the Wensleydale Railway and Chocolate Factory. For those of you who wish to travel deeper into the Dales, the market town of Hawes offers many attractions including the famous Creamery, Ropeworks and Dales Countryside Museum.
