We are pleased to offer a superb medley of holiday cottages situated beside The Forbidden Corner and nestling within the grounds of Tupgill Park in Coverdale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. A good selection to suit all tastes, we offer luxury ground and first floor apartments, a traditional 2 storey barn conversion, a spacious first floor apartment and a semi detached estate cottage, all offering every home from home comfort.
The Forbidden Corner, referred to as “The Strangest Place in The World” comprises of a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers, follies and surprises created within a four acre garden in the heart of The Yorkshire Dales National Park. The temple of the underworld, the eye of the needle, a huge pyramid made of translucent glass, paths and passes that lead nowhere, extraordinary statues – at every turn there are decisions to be made and tricks to avoid. This is certainly a day out with a difference and a day pass for your party will be included when you book one of the cottages.
Situated just off the road between Middleham and Carlton in Coverdale, Tupgill Park ensures a perfect holiday retreat from which to explore the delights of the surrounding National Park with an abundance of footpath walks and hikes. Middleham, home to Middleham Castle was once occupied by Richard III, houses Racing Yards stabling over 1,000 horses which can be seen in the mornings en route to exercise on the Gallops above the town.
The bustling market towns of Leyburn and Hawes are easily accessible, enjoying a good selection of shops and pubs, along with craft workshops including Rope makers, The Tea Pottery, The Little Chocolate Shop, The Wensleydale Creamery and much more …..
The Forbidden Corner is open 1st April to 31st October 7 days a week, 1st November to the last Sunday before Christmas on Sundays only. Closed January, February and March. Anyone taking a holiday during closed season will be given a ticket for their party use during open season.
