Rock Climbing

There are plenty of great places to enjoy rock climbing in Yorkshire, including the famous threesome of Kilnsey, Malham Cove and Gordale Scar.

A lot of the limestone cliffs that predominate in Yorkshire offer challenging climbing for more experienced climbers, whereas the gritstone outcrops such as Brimham Rocks, Almscliff and the Cow and Calf at Ilkley are maybe more suited to beginners.

Climbing enthusiasts need to head for the Pennines and  the Yorkshire Dales where we have plenty of accommodation ideally placed. In addition climbers could consider the Nidderdale region or The North York Moors which also has some worthwhile crags; here again we have perfectly located cottages for a climbing holiday in Yorkshire.

For those who would like a bit of help and are maybe trying it for the first time should head to one of the many indoor climbing walls in the region. You’ll find one in Leeds, Ingleton, Harrogate and Hull.
