Elm Tree Barn is an award winning eco-barn that sits in the midst of Hockney Country. It has been converted from an 18th Century Granary into a luxury, modern, detached spacious property. It has solar panels and is insulated with sheep’s wool making it an extremely eco-friendly and warm conversion. It benefits from under floor heating on both floors and has a log burning stove for cosy nights in. The overall renovation has been done to a particularly high standard and finished off with tasteful furnishings and decor throughout. Elm Tree Barn is very well equipped including a log burner, a hot tub, a croquet lawn and large private patio area with furniture and Gas BBQ . The property is ideal for large families or friends sharing, it also offers accommodation flexibility with a ground floor bedroom and shower room for easy access. There is Free view on all TV’s plus a PlayStation 4 and BluRay DVD Player for the guest’s  entertainment in the lounge. A landline phone is provided with an honesty box plus free Wi-fi throughout the property. Each bedroom has fitted furniture, I-pod alarm clocks and a hairdryer for your convenience.

About the local area

The location is perfect for walkers or cyclists, with the Wolds Way running close by and the Howardian Hills and the North Yorkshire Moors, both are home to a wealth of trails through stunning scenery. There is a lockable cycle store provided and a wash area to hose down your bikes. Nearby lies the Wharram Percy Deserted Medieval Village and Sledmere with its charming stately home is just a five minute drive. The magnificent 18th century house at Castle Howard, National Trust Beningbrough Hall with its National Portrait Gallery and the World Heritage site of Fountains Abbey, provide excellent days out. All within a 40 minute drive are the traditional coastal resorts of Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey with their long sandy beaches or Dalby Forest for some outdoor adventure. The historic walled city of York, 20 miles, is renowned for its exquisite architecture, quaint cobbled streets and iconic minster and offers numerous attractions, themed festivals, superb shopping and excellent restaurants. "The deep" Aquarium at Hull makes a wonderful rainy day trip. Beverley with its stunning Gothic Cathedral is only half an hour away where you can enjoy a day at the races.
