Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac at the foot of Winder Fell, Bramble Cottage is a welcoming ’home from home’ offering all the conveniences one needs for a self-catering holiday. Ideal for couples, friends or a small family, the cottage has two nicely presented bedrooms, a contemporary bathroom with shower, a small but well-equipped kitchen, and a bright, airy living/dining room with French windows that open out onto the enclosed courtyard. Additional benefits include private parking and Wi-Fi.
Perfectly located for visitors who like everything on their doorstep, Bramble Cottage is only a 5-minute walk from the centre of Sedbergh, and there is a good supermarket even closer. Known as a ‘Book Town’, Sedbergh has several book shops as well as a good selection of pubs, cafés, restaurants, takeaways and shops, which include a butchers, greengrocer, sweet shop and chemist. There is also a weekly market which is held on Wednesdays.
Conveniently situated between lakes and dales, Sedbergh is a walker’s paradise. From the cottage there is a footpath that takes you to Howgill Lane and from there you can follow a popular route through Lockbank Farm to the top of Winder Fell and beyond. There are also many riverside paths along the banks of the Rawthey and the Dee. Other popular activities available locally include golf and fishing.
A popular attraction just 1 mile out of Sedbergh is the Farfield Mill arts and heritage centre, and for anyone interested in history, the Quaker Meeting House, a mile down the Kirkby Lonsdale road, is well worth a visit. There is also a very nice walk along the river and railway embankment.
With lots to see and do within easy driving distance, Bramble Cottage makes a great touring base.
