Located just 1.5 miles from the famous village of Haworth, home of the Bronte Sisters, in the village of Oxenhope, is 3 Cross Farm. This traditional stone built cottage offers spacious, homely and comfortable accommodation, making the ideal base for exploring the area, 3 Cross Farm welcomes you with its large, traditional farmhouse style kitchen with a real 'heart of the home' feel. To the rear of this cottage, there is a large decking area, ideal for enjoying al fresco dining on those balmy summer days. The area is of great historical and literary interest, with the famous Bronte Parsonage in Haworth, and the moors around the area reputedly being the inspiration for Wuthering Heights. Just 100 yards from the cottage is Keighley and Worth Valley Railway which offers year round entertainment from Victorian weekends - carols by train - egg rolling - 40's/60's weekends, so sit back and enjoy the nostalgia as your steam train transports you back in time.

About the local area

The area is excellent for walking, with the Pennine Way and Millennium Way both passing close by. Elsewhere in the area is the Eureka children's museum in Halifax, offers a wonderful 'hands on' experience for the children. Bolton Abbey is easily accessible, and is well worth a visit. After a busy day exploring the area, you are sure to enjoy the warm welcoming home that Cross Farm has to offer.

We did quite a lot of activities such as walking, geo-caching and all kinds of activities around the steam train journey. A fantastic property in the heart of Bronte Country. We will be back.


The Worth Valley Railway

Step back in time and enjoy a train ride through the heart of Brontë country where ‘The Railway Children’ was filmed. Most services are operated by steam trains.

Bronte Parsonage

Haworth Parsonage was built in 1778. In 1920 Patrick Brontre and his wife and their six children moved in. View the rooms the famed Brontë sisters Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë used including the kitchen, study and bedrooms.

Hardcastle Crags

A beauty spot of the South Pennies with more than 160 hectares of unspoilt woodland. As well as being the home of the northern hairy wood ant, there are tumbling streams, glorious waterfalls and stacks of millstone grit.
