Boroughbridge, near Harrogate, is a historic market town set in the very heart of Yorkshire. There are a number of picturesque villages surrounding the town and it is within easy reach of both the city of York and the coast. With plenty of accommodation options, it is a great place to stay when exploring this beautiful region. Boroughbridge crosses the sparkling River Ure, which is not only an excellent spot for a bit of sport fishing, but also a popular place for riverside walks and boating trips. Boroughbridge Marina provides plenty of moorings for private boats, but don't be disheartened if you don't have your own vessel. There are numerous pleasure boats running day trips along the river, providing plenty of opportunities to spend a glorious day mucking about on boats with the family. The Marina is located near the famous Devil's Arrows, a line of three standing stones which are believed to have been erected during the Bronze Age and are certainly worth a visit while you are staying in this area. The town itself is located within easy reach of the M1 and exactly half way between London and Edinburgh.
