The village is an ideal holiday base from which to explore the surrounding area, with the bustling market town of Skipton otherwise known as 'Gateway to the Dales' some 6 miles south west. Skipton is home to a beautiful Norman castle which stands proudly at the head of the high street, lined by cobbled setts and where you will find the 4 day a week market. The town was also awarded 'High Street of the Year' in 2008. The village of Haworth, famed for its Bronte connections and home to the Bronte Parsonage Museum is approximately 15 miles away and worthy of a visit. Haworth also offers a good selection of shops, gifts and curious, is home to the Worth Valley Steam Railway.
Exellent footopath walks, hikes and cycleways can be found in the immediate area, with the tow path of the Leeds to Liverpool canal easily accessible at nearby Greenberfield Locks, offering a gentler pace.
