Small and cosy, the cottage enjoys a multi fuel stove in the lounge and en suite facilities beside the bedroom which includes a window seat overlooking the owner's garden, patio and river. To the front of the cottage a paved patio area, furnished with garden seating - a perfect spot to sit, relax and enjoy the visiting wildlife.

Bedroom: With double bed and en suite bathroom with shower over bath, WC, wash basin and shaver point.

Initial supply of fuel provided for the stove with further supplies available locally. All power, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair available. One well behaved pet welcome.

About the local area

This tiny village can be found sitting beneath the Roova Crags on the south east side of the River Cover in one of the lesser known dales of Coverdale. Quiet and peaceful, the village is situated approximately 9 miles north of Kettlewell, 6 miles south west of Middleham, home to over 1,000 racehorses and Middleham Castle and the bustling  market town of Leyburn some 7 miles offers an excellent selection of shops and pubs, along with craft workshops including the Tea Pottery and the Little Chocolate Shop.
The area is surrounded by excellent walking and hiking through this delightful dale with walks through Coverdale, Gammersgill, Carlton and Horsehouse, or more strenuous walks up and over Roova Crags or to Scar House Reservoir - perfect for the outdoor enthusiast. Nearby, The Forbidden Corner ensures a perfect days outing for the young and young at heart, with a labyrinth of tunnels, nooks and crannies to be explored.

Bolton Castle

Completed in 1399, Bolton Castle has a rich past including connections with Richard III and Mary Queen of Scots who was imprisoned here in 1568 under orders from Elizabeth I. Open all year round.

Middleham Castle

Mostly intact and affording wonderful views of Wensleydale from the viewing platform the historic ruins of Middleham Castle are well worth a visit.

Angram and Scar House Reservoirs

These two reservoirs at the head of Nidderdale are located in a wild and beautiful area of Upper Nidderdale. Yorkshire Water have provided an excellent six and a half mile walk around both stretches of water and with a free car park and picnic area on site its a fantastic day out for all the family.

Cauldron Falls

The village of West Burton has a famous attraction; the West Burton Falls, more famously known as the Cauldron Falls.
