Set in a quiet courtyard of properties in the quiet hamlet of Hornby, Castle Cottage is a beautifully presented and spacious cottage for two. The open plan living space has oak floors, a comfy leather sofa, cosy wood burner and beautiful kitchen with range style oven. The rear of the cottage looks out on to Hornby Castle, and there is a sunny south facing patio to enjoy in the summer. The bedroom to the front overlooks open fields where deer regularly roam.

Open plan Lounge/Kitchen/Diner: With wood burning stove, TV, DVD, radio/CD/ipod dock. Gas hob and electric range style oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

First floor

The internal stairs have railings/balustrades that are only 83.5cm tall so extra care should be taken at all times.

About the local area

The hamlet of Hornby is situated around 10 miles east of Leyburn and 6 miles from Bedale on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Leyburn attracts many visitors each year with the Wensleydale Railway, Little Chocolate Shop, Tennants Auctioneers and a variety of pubs, restaurants and shops. Bedale is a Georgian market town with a market every Tuesday along the cobbled setts along with pubs and shops. The Yorkshire Dales National Park attracts huge numbers of visitors each year who are drawn to the miles of stunning scenery, beautiful walks across varied landscapes, and quiet country roads to cycle along. The area is also home to many ancient buildings such as Middleham Castle, Castle Bolton and Richmond Castle along with many stately homes. Cities such as Ripon and York can be reached in under an hour, and the proximity to the A1 makes this a great base to explore the Yorkshire Dales and beyond
