A short walk from the cottage leads to the local village inn serving hearty Yorkshire food, or for those who prefer the finer things in life, Swinton Park, one of the highest rated hotels in Yorkshire, offers fine cuisine close by.

For those wishing to venture a little further , the bustling market towns of Leyburn and Richmond are easily accessible to the north, with the historic cities of Ripon and York, each with racecourse, to the south. From the cottage, excellent walking and hiking may be enjoyed in the immediate area.
