Gran’s Cottage is located down Pudding Lane, a quiet lane running just off the main street providing peace and tranquility, yet remaining close to the village amenities. The popular market town of Hawes is just five miles away with its good mix of traditional stores, interior shops, delicatessen, tearooms, restaurants, pubs and the popular market that lines the streets on a Tuesday selling a wide range of wares and local produce. Hawes hosts a traditional farmer’s auction market, every Tuesday and sees a gathering of farmers from miles around travel to Hawes to trade their livestock
Hawes is also the home of Wensleydale cheese, a local speciality, and guests can visit the Wensleydale Creamery to see the whole process of cheese making, perhaps sampling this local speciality along the way. Wensleydale is a haven for walking and cycling, and there are many historic visitor attractions within the immediate area. The natural rolling hillsides of Wensleydale provide a picture perfect setting for any dales holiday.
