High Bands occupies a truly wonderful position in the heart of Upper Wensleydale some 1/2 mile from Gayle village and 1.5 miles from the bustling market town of Hawes. The Pennine Way is within a 2 minute walk from High Bands. Fully refurbished in late 2011, this superb farmhouse offers excellent accommodation for large groups and families, with extra provision for pets in the form of 4 outdoor kennels where pets can be made comfortable during the daytime and evenings, if required along with the use of the grounds which are fully fenced and dog proof! (Pets are allowed in the house). The house has been lovingly furnished and equipped to offer every home from home convenience with garden and patios, outdoor furniture, barbecue and the convenience of a pretty herb garden with a large variety of fresh aromatic plants to tempt the taste buds.

Ground floor

Property has oil fired central heating and underfloor heating to ground floor and comprises:

Lounge: With wood burning stove, TV, DVD, radio/CD, Wi-fi and double sofa bed

Large Farmhouse Kitchen/Diner: With electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

Utility Room: With washing machine, tumble dryer and suitable for pets

Bedroom 5: With Super king size bed with zip and link mattresses and can also be converted to twins

Wet Room; With shower, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail.

First floor

Bedroom 1: With  king size bed and en suite shower, WC, wash basin, heated towel rail and shaver point

Bedroom 2: With double bed

Bedroom 3: With king size bed

Bedroom 4: With 2 single beds, with  pullout beds underneath, suitable for 4 children, or 2 adults

Bathroom; With bath, shower cubicle, WC, wash basin, heated towel rail and shaver point.

Facilities

Starter pack of fuel for stove provided. Background heating, power, bed linen and hand towels only included. Travel cot and highchair available

Miscellaneous

Fully enclosed paved patio to rear and seating area to front with garden furniture, BBQ and herb garden. 5 plus dogs allowed, but only outdoor kennels for up to 3 dogs for daytime use.Pets allowed in kitchen/scullery and outdoors only (please ask if you want more than 5 pets to come). Ample off road parking.

About the local area

The house is situated in a perfect rural position with an abundance of footpath walks and hikes direct from the door. Hawes is the nearest town with provisions, pubs and tea rooms. It is also host to the Wensleydale Creamery, complete with shop and visitor centre, The Dales Countryside Museum, Rope makers and a good selection of antique shops and it is on the main street through the town where you will find an outdoor market every Tuesday. For those wishing to explore you may venture through Wensleydale via Askrigg, known for its Herriot connections, to Aysgarth, complete with stunning waterfalls and walks, to the busy market town of Leyburn. Or to the north, via the "Buttertubs Pass" you can find the tranquil and quaint villages throughout Swaledale to include Muker, Low Row and Reeth
