Howden Cottage nestles peacefully in the village of Carlton in the heart of beautiful Coverdale. Furnished and decorated to a particularly high standard and with great attention to detail, the cottage is a delight, retaining old character features such as the old stone fireplace and exposed beams. Fully equipped with everything to make your stay as welcoming and relaxing as possible, the spacious kitchen diner is ideal for self catering with a large Rangemaster double oven, ample seating and a dishwasher. The pretty garden to the rear is great for a barbeque. Added bench seating at the far end is perfect for those who wish to sit and while away the hours overlooking sheep dotted fields and enjoy the tranquillity.

Carlton is a picturesque village, and provides an ideal base for exploring beautiful Coverdale and beyond. The dale features old packhorse trails and remnants of mining history married together with stunning wild scenery perfect for walkers and cyclists. Pubs serving food can be accessed at either the hamlet of Horsehouse or nearby West Witton where you will find the critically acclaimed ‘Wensleydale Heifer’ restaurant. Leyburn is a short drive away with further amenities. For those seeking a scenic drive, Kettlewell in Wharfedale can be accessed via a narrow winding road with stunning views.
