Askrigg nestles in the heart of Wensleydale and will be recognised by viewers of the long running TV series "All creatures Great and Small", in particular Skeldale House, where the vet James Herriot lived and also The Kings Arms which appeared as the Drover's Arms. The village enjoys narrow cobbled streets around the church and a small selection of shops and pubs along the main street, with The Crown Inn within short walking distance of the property.
Excellent footpath walks and hikes can be found in the surrounding areas along with some breathtaking views, or a stroll around the village itself takes you through alleyways into the nooks and crannies of yesteryear!
From Askrigg, the bustling market towns of Hawes and Leyburn are easily accessible and worthy of a days outing, whilst the villages of Muker, Low Row and Reeth up in neighbouring Swaledale can be accessed from a winding road out of Askrigg which divides the two Dales.

Kirklea is one of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in especially in the kitchen. It was warm and clean and we would definately stay there again.
Pleasantly suprised at the size of the property. A lovely little village.
Very well maintained property, close to local amenities. Friendly locals & good food in 2 local pubs.
