Middleham is surrounded by the rolling Yorkshire Dales countryside, making it the perfect location for walking, or for those who require a more leisurely form of transport, the 'Dales Bus' runs on a regular basis, stopping at many of the popular Dales locations, or perhaps a trip on the Wensleydale railway with its nostalgic steam train may be your style. Elsewhere in the area there are many attractions. The traditional market town of Leyburn is just a couple of miles away, and the famous cathedral cities of York and Ripon are both within easy reach, both are well worth a visit and the racing enthusiasts amongst you may like to drop in on a race meeting whilst visiting.
