This busy market town attracts visitors all year round and hosts an outdoor market every Friday and the last Saturday in each month in the square just a short 200 yard stroll from the cottages. A good selection of shops surrounds the town centre, along with pubs and restaurants, a deli and outdoor shops. Above the market square the "Shawl" is a perfect vantage point from which to admire stunning views over Wensleydale. Leyburn ensures a perfect base from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park, along with the lively village of Middleham, home to over 1,000 racehorses who enjoy their morning exercise on the "gallops" high above Middleham Castle. For the children, the Forbidden Corner, a labyrinth of tunnels, chambers, follies and surprises, set within 4 acres of walled gardens - must be booked in advance. Leyburn itself enjoys the Wensleydale Railway Line, Tea pot factory and chocolate makers, ensuring something for everyone.
