Quietly located in the peaceful village of Thornton Steward, Thornhill Cottage is a cosy and welcoming home-from-home. Spacious and light, the cottage benefits from a delightful lounge with open fire and in addition, a separate garden room overlooking the large enclosed garden – an ideal spot for some quiet reading, or to watch the wildlife!
The cottage has two bathrooms and a further cloakroom, and the smaller bedroom is perfect for a child.

About the local area
Thornton Steward is in a rural location almost equidistant from the bustling towns of Bedale and Leyburn, and is the ideal spot to base yourself whilst exploring the Yorkshire Dales. The National Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts with miles of stunning moorland, hills and trails to enjoy. The Dales also offer some of the best mountain biking opportunities in the country with around 900km of byways, bridleways and trails to discover. For the kids, nearby Flamingo Land and zoo are a fantastic family day out, with rides to suit any age, not to mention an abundance of pink flamingos! There is horse riding available in nearby Masham, and around a mile away is Thornton Steward Reservoir offering fishing between March and November, and ideal for an evening stroll. Bedale and Leyburn are a short drive away with shops, pubs and restaurants, and the larger town of Ripon with cathedral is worthy of a visit.

Lovely peaceful country cottage lots of market towns to visit. Cosy cottage in the winter months with the log fire burning. Even better in the summer months when the weather is warm.

Very cosy,so warm we had to alter the heating, but great to come back after walking out on the 'tops'; good areas in cottage to spend time together and apart with space for quiet time, well equiped, all the above and more, garden a huge bonus...great for the children. Also a guitar...which we carefully used...having not had room in car for our violins!

Stunning location! The house has lots of character and the garden room was lovely to sit in to enjoy the amazing views. The house was incredibly well equipped with lots of personal touches that were very much appreciated. We would definitely recommend this property to others and can't wait to go back ourselves.
