The Great Yorkshire show is huge agricultural show which is held in July every year in the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate.
The first show began in 1838 and was such a success that it was decided it should be repeated every year to promote the agriculture in Yorkshire. It has taken place in various venues in the past but now finds its home in the large showground in the grand spa town of Harrogate.
The show has grown hugely over the years and is now held over 3 days with advance tickets available from early march.
Plan your day around the highlights which include Livestock judging, Sheep Shearing competitions and Cattle Parades not to mention breadmaking, willow weaving and facepainting. There are also numerous stalls selling everything from local cheeses and meats to hand carved ducks and homemade gifts.
