Description

Situated on the very popular Bridlington Links Golf Course, this detached lodge is in a quiet corner of the grounds. The lodge is light and spacious with a large open plan living/kitchen/dining area. The property has the benefit of an en-suite shower room in one of the bedroom and a family bathroom.
The links is a fantastic 18-hole golf course situated on the cliff tops between Bridlington and Flamborough Head and within walking distance of the village of Sewerby. To the rear of the golf course is this splendid lodge complex where guests return year after year to enjoy a peaceful holiday or play some golf. From the lodge you can walk through a wooded path to Sewerby Hall, a wonderful Georgian stately home with stunning gardens and a great café. From Sewerby Hall you can catch the land train down to Bridlington or you can walk along the cliff tops and enjoy the fresh sea air.
The east coast has lots of hidden gems and some wonderful walks along this particular coastline. Danes Dyke, a nature reserve renowned for its wildlife and wonderful woodland walks, stretches for over 4km across the Flamborough headland towards Bempton Cliffs, home to the the RSPB bird sanctuary. This is where birdwatchers visit from all over the world to see the wonderful array of migrating seabirds, especially the very comical puffins. Bridlington is a large seaside resort with fantastic beaches, plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. Further north you have the resorts of Filey and Scarborough as well as the wonderful North York Moors National Park.
The medieval city of York is less than an hours drive away. York is voted every year as one of the top ten cities to visit in the UK. Do try and visit during your stay as you will not be disappointed. There’s some wonderful museums such as the railway museum and the Jorvik Viking Museum, as well as plenty of theatres, shops, street entertainers and independent cafés and tapas bars. Beach 1½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 600 yards.

About the local area

Part of the Yorkshire Heritage Coast, the area around Bridlington and Hornsea is rich in areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Bridlington is renowned for its award winning beaches. Hire a beach chalet and let the children enjoy the fun at Kiddies Corner, or take a trip on the Land Train to Sewerby Hall and Gardens.

An impressive country house with acres of gardens to explore, Sewerby is also home to a small zoo where children are sure to delight in the popular Humboldt Penguins. Wet weather is never a problem, with plenty of amusement arcades along the seafront and Leisureworld, which boasts an indoor fun pool, complete with waves and waterslides.

Fourteen miles south of Bridlington is the little seaside town of Hornsea, housing a pottery museum and Bettison's Folly, a Grade II listed tower, while nearby Hornsea Mere offers sailing and fishing.

North of Bridlington is Flamborough Head, a chalk headland with the oldest lighthouse in Britain, which was built in 1674 but never used. There is also a newer, working lighthouse, where you can climb the 119 stairs and admire the extensive views. This is a Special Area of Conservation and a birdwatcher's paradise, with its regular visitors of gannets and puffins.

Danes Dyke at Flamborough is a massive flat topped bank and ditch that cuts through the headland. Believed to have been built as a defensive structure, it dates back to the iron age and is now a nature reserve, offering the visitor a series of walks and nature trails to explore.
