Rose Cottage is a delightful cosy, comfortable cottage, ideally positioned in the picturesque village of Thorpe Bassett near Malton. It is a perfect base for exploring the East Coast, York and the North Yorkshire Moors as it is centrally located and within easy reach of all these areas. The cottage has been tastefully furnished and decorated with neutral tones giving it a light airy feel. The area is a haven for keen ramblers and cyclists and also dog lovers as it is surrounded in glorious open countryside with numerous walks and cycle tracks right outside your door.

You can access the famous Wolds Way walk just 1/2 mile from Rose Cottage. The small paddock, that is shared with the owners, is ideal for children to play football and enjoy the great outdoors and there is a BBQ provided for you to relax and enjoy some alfresco time on a summers evening. The traditional market town of Malton is 5 miles away, and offers many interesting shops, a Farmer’s Market, pubs, restaurants, museum and cinema. The Wolds Way Lavender Farm is Yorkshire’s Premier Multi Award Winning Lavender Farm and Gardens and is situated just 2 miles away and well worth a visit. There are some great places close by for the kids to enjoy like Eden Camp, Flamingo Land Zoo and Park, Dalby Forest with its Go Ape assault course and the North Yorkshire Moor Steam Train. For a more cultured day out there is Scampston Walled Gardens, Sledmere House, Kirkham priory and Castle Howard - featured in the film ’ Brideshead Revisited’, and is only 10 miles away. The historic city of York is 25 miles away, with its stunning Minster, cobbled streets, excellent shops and many museums.
