Description

This terraced holiday property makes a great base for a family holiday with shops and restaurants just around the corner, plus an excellent fish and chip shop. Peasholm Park is just a short stroll away where you can enjoy the boating lake with its pedalos and rowing boats, or have a wander around the ornamental gardens. In the summer months you can sit and listen to the bands that entertain you whilst you tuck in to an ice cream or a picnic. The children can enjoy the naval warfare battle, and there is also a minature re-enactment of a battle at seas that has entertained many children over the years.

The Alpamare waterpark, with its water flumes and infinity pool, is close by. For the grown ups there is the Scarborough cricket ground, home to some excellent county cricket throughout the season. Scarborough has two bays with a long flat Marine Drive along the seafront, great for that early evening walk or to exercise the dog. Both bays have excellent sandy beaches with lifeguards throughout the summer months, as well as donkey rides and traditional seaside stalls.

The resorts of Filey, Flamborough Head and Bridlington are to the south, and to the north lies the very popular resort of Whitby. The medieval city of York is only an hour away by car or the train runs direct from Scarborough. Don’t forget to spend a day in York, which is voted every year as being one of the top 10 cities to visit. Beach 450 yards. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant 250 yards.

About the local area

Scarborough is situated at the southern end of the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and, together with Filey, offers beautiful beaches, coastal walks and a variety of entertainment for the whole family.

Scarborough is a town of two halves, with South Bay full of amusement arcades, fish and chip shops and donkey rides, whilst the more genteel North Bay is home to several parks and grand Victorian buildings. The whole family will want to take a trip on the miniature North Bay Railway, which will take you to Sea Life Centre and to the Historic Water Chute and Boating Lake.

Filey is a small traditional seaside town, home to an award-winning museum and a nature reserve that is a haven for wild birds. The town is situated at the eastern end of The Cleveland Way, a long- distance footpath that skirts the Yorkshire Moors and has many beautiful walks with stunning views to offer. Kids will love visiting the Alpamare waterpark for all kinds of aquatic fun, with slides, waves and much more to enjoy.

Within easy reach is the famous Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, which has something to offer every member of the family, from thrilling white-knuckle rides to children's entertainment. For something really out of the ordinary, pay a visit to Pesky Husky, where you can take part in a kennel tour followed by walk or even a trek with these charismatic dogs.
