Situated in a residential area of the popular seaside town of Scarborough, Newlands House is a fantastic family holiday home, accommodating up to five people. It has been tastefully decorated and furnished to a good standard, with everything you will need for a perfect family holiday. Being the owner’s childhood home means a great deal of thought has gone into all of the refurbishment. The property has a lawned garden to the front and an enclosed courtyard to the rear, providing space for you to enjoy some time outdoors. The property also benefits from two private parking spaces.
Just along the road from the property there’s a small row of shops, including a convenience store and take away. For a larger selection of shops, the centre of Scarborough is 1.5 miles away. Scarborough is a very traditional seaside resort that visitors have enjoyed for many years. There’s two large sweeping bays, the North and South Bay. Joining the two bays there’s a long flat promenade, where you can catch an open-top bus along the seafront from one bay to the next. Scarborough has something for everyone.
Close by there’s the Alpamare water park, a fun themed water park with wave machines, water chutes and slides, as well as an infinity pool. The Sealife Centre is also just a short walk away. Here you can enjoy watching the penguins or seeing the sharks in their tanks.
The town centre of Scarborough is 1.5 miles away where you’ll find a shopping centre, independent shops, bars, pubs and restaurants. There’s an open air theatre as well as the indoor SJT theatre, home to most of the playwright Alan Ayckbourn’s premieres. Scarborough is also host to the cricket festival with excellent test cricket for you to enjoy. The resorts of Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, Filey and Bridlington are a short drive away and the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is along the coast, where you can see thousands of migrating seabirds from kittiwakes to puffins. The medieval city of York is just an hour away and can be reached by car or direct train from Scarborough station. A wonderful ancient city full of history and some excellent museums; always voted in the top 10 cities to visit in the uk, so don’t miss out! Beach ¾ mile. Shop ¼ mile, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

About the local area

Scarborough is situated at the southern end of the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and, together with Filey, offers beautiful beaches, coastal walks and a variety of entertainment for the whole family.

Scarborough is a town of two halves, with South Bay full of amusement arcades, fish and chip shops and donkey rides, whilst the more genteel North Bay is home to several parks and grand Victorian buildings. The whole family will want to take a trip on the miniature North Bay Railway, which will take you to Sea Life Centre and to the Historic Water Chute and Boating Lake.

Filey is a small traditional seaside town, home to an award-winning museum and a nature reserve that is a haven for wild birds. The town is situated at the eastern end of The Cleveland Way, a long- distance footpath that skirts the Yorkshire Moors and has many beautiful walks with stunning views to offer. Kids will love visiting the Alpamare waterpark for all kinds of aquatic fun, with slides, waves and much more to enjoy.

Within easy reach is the famous Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, which has something to offer every member of the family, from thrilling white-knuckle rides to children's entertainment. For something really out of the ordinary, pay a visit to Pesky Husky, where you can take part in a kennel tour followed by walk or even a trek with these charismatic dogs.
