Description

This three-storey, semi-detached house lies in a quiet, residential avenue in Scarborough, just a short stroll from the beach. The kitchen area is large and homely and is a great social space. The second floor of the house is accessed by steep stairs which may not be suitable for less mobile guests or children but is great for teenagers or independent children who want their own space as it has its own kitchen and seating area. To the rear of the property there is a tiered garden with a small lawned area, decking with seating, BBQ and a play castle for the children. The garden is fully enclosed making it great for children and pets. You can enjoy the evenings sat outside as there is lighting around the garden. The owner has thought of everything, including a doggy shower for when you bring the dog back from the beach, and a ceramic drying radiator for drying coats, boots and wetsuits.
This is an ideal location as it is central for all that Yorkshire has to offer with the coast on your doorstep plus the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds just a short drive away. Scarborough is a traditional seaside resort that consists of two bays, the North and the South Bay. Both are very popular and have large sandy beaches and a long marine drive that is nice and flat for that leisurely walk along the seafront. There are lots of attractions in Scarborough to keep everyone entertained from the Sealife Centre, the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Alpamare UK waterpark, Peasholm Park and the famous outdoor theatre, home to lots of international acts throughout the summer. The town centre and all the shops are just a 10-minute walk away but there are some local pubs and restaurants that are closer.
The resorts of Bridlington, Flamborough Head and Filey are to the south and travelling north you find Whitby. All these resorts are very different but well worth a visit during your stay. The medieval city of York is an hours drive or you can catch the train direct from Scarborough. York is voted every year as one of the top ten cities in the UK to visit so don’t miss it. With fantastic restaurants, cafés, theatres and street entertainers, York has something for everyone. Beach 800 yards. Shop 400 yards, pub 300 yards and restaurant 600 yards.

About the local area

Scarborough is situated at the southern end of the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and, together with Filey, offers beautiful beaches, coastal walks and a variety of entertainment for the whole family.

Scarborough is a town of two halves, with South Bay full of amusement arcades, fish and chip shops and donkey rides, whilst the more genteel North Bay is home to several parks and grand Victorian buildings. The whole family will want to take a trip on the miniature North Bay Railway, which will take you to Sea Life Centre and to the Historic Water Chute and Boating Lake.

Filey is a small traditional seaside town, home to an award-winning museum and a nature reserve that is a haven for wild birds. The town is situated at the eastern end of The Cleveland Way, a long- distance footpath that skirts the Yorkshire Moors and has many beautiful walks with stunning views to offer. Kids will love visiting the Alpamare waterpark for all kinds of aquatic fun, with slides, waves and much more to enjoy.

Within easy reach is the famous Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, which has something to offer every member of the family, from thrilling white-knuckle rides to children's entertainment. For something really out of the ordinary, pay a visit to Pesky Husky, where you can take part in a kennel tour followed by walk or even a trek with these charismatic dogs.
