Overlooking Peasholm Park and just a short stroll from the beach, this terraced property is perfect for a family holiday. With its own private parking, this is a very desirable property close to the seafront. From the house you can walk down to North Bay within a couple of minutes, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants close by. Peasholm Park is situated just in front of the property and has a very popular boating lake where you can hire rowing boats, canoes and pedalos. Sail around the lake and take in the beautiful scenery and gardens. Throughout the summer the park hosts the ‘Battle of Peasholm Naval Battle’, a miniature sea battle re-enactment which is excellent fun for the children.
Another great attraction for the children is the Alpamare Waterpark with fantastic slides, wave pools, infinity pool and a wonderful spa for the adults. The largest outdoor amphitheatre in Europe is also by the park where you can see international acts throughout the summer.
Scarborough has two bays, North and South Bay, and the long Marine Walk of over 3 miles which connects the two. North Bay is the quieter of the two with its traditional beach huts and donkey rides, whereas the South Bay has amusements, shops and bars.
The famous Scarborough Cricket Ground is just around the corner, home to county cricket and a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon. Within a short drive you can be in Whitby, Filey, Flamborough Head and Bridlington, all great traditional seaside resorts on the east coast. Call at Bempton Cliffs, the RSPB bird sanctuary, where you will see thousands of puffins and other migrating seabirds. Within an hour you can be in the cities of Hull and York. Hull has been voted the city of culture for 2017, so is well worth a visit during your stay. York never fails to impress, with great shopping, fantastic history, museums, theatres and the famous minster, the largest gothic cathedral in northern Europe. The cobbled streets are full of life with street entertainers and independent cafés, where you can just sit and watch the world go by. Both Hull and York are accessible by train from Scarborough. For those of you who enjoy walking, the Cleveland Way runs through Scarborough on its final stretch down to Filey, with lots of wonderful cliff top walks with stunning scenery and rugged coastlines. Beach 300 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

About the local area

Scarborough is situated at the southern end of the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and, together with Filey, offers beautiful beaches, coastal walks and a variety of entertainment for the whole family.

Scarborough is a town of two halves, with South Bay full of amusement arcades, fish and chip shops and donkey rides, whilst the more genteel North Bay is home to several parks and grand Victorian buildings. The whole family will want to take a trip on the miniature North Bay Railway, which will take you to Sea Life Centre and to the Historic Water Chute and Boating Lake.

Filey is a small traditional seaside town, home to an award-winning museum and a nature reserve that is a haven for wild birds. The town is situated at the eastern end of The Cleveland Way, a long- distance footpath that skirts the Yorkshire Moors and has many beautiful walks with stunning views to offer. Kids will love visiting the Alpamare waterpark for all kinds of aquatic fun, with slides, waves and much more to enjoy.

Within easy reach is the famous Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, which has something to offer every member of the family, from thrilling white-knuckle rides to children's entertainment. For something really out of the ordinary, pay a visit to Pesky Husky, where you can take part in a kennel tour followed by walk or even a trek with these charismatic dogs.
