Description

Completely renovated throughout in 2021, this property has been lovingly furnished to ensure you have a pleasurable stay. Set over three floors, with lots of quirky original features evoking this property’s historical past.
Stepping inside, you are welcomed into the cosy living room, complete with a multi-fuel burner, where you can unwind around the crackling flames in an evening. Adjoining the living room you have a well equipped kitchen, this room has lots of character with a large range cooker centre stage. The kitchen conveniently leads through to a raised dining room with a long table where you can all gather over meals, raising a toast to a holiday to remember. The enclosed patio is at the rear of the property, with seating to enjoy the sun. Upstairs on the first floor are two double bedrooms. The front master bedroom overlooks historic Princess Street. In the rear bedroom, the quirky feature in this room are the steps leading to nowhere, they were once the original stairs in the property, now used as shelves for ornaments and books. On this floor there is also a shower room plus a house bathroom. Follow the stairs up to the second floor and here you will find a further two bedrooms, a twin as well as a smaller room with a day bed.
Just a short stroll and you are on the lively South Bay. You can walk from here all the way along the promenade to the quieter North Bay. The two bays have lovely, large sandy beaches making them perfect for your family holiday. You are also near to Scarborough Castle as well as restaurants and the funfair on the seafront. Peasholm Park is wonderful to discover, you can hire pedaloes and rowing boats to go around the lake and see the stunning oriental gardens. Scarborough is famous for its theatres. There is an outdoor theatre which stages concerts by some of music’s big names, and then there is the Stephen Joseph Theatre which is famous for the premieres of Alan Ayckbourn’s plays.
The Alpamare waterpark is great for all ages, with its fantastic wave pool and waterslides, as well as a large heated outdoor infinity pool. Keep younger children entertained with the ’splash and play’ area. For adults there is a spa where you can relax and be pampered. The heated outdoor pools are warm enough to enjoy through all the seasons. Further along the coast you have Filey, Flamborough, Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby to discover, all fabulous for days out. For nature lovers you have the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs, the North Yorkshire Moors National Park as well as the wonderful Dalby Forest which is laced with walking & cycle trails. Beach 1 mile.

About the local area

Scarborough is situated at the southern end of the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and, together with Filey, offers beautiful beaches, coastal walks and a variety of entertainment for the whole family.

Scarborough is a town of two halves, with South Bay full of amusement arcades, fish and chip shops and donkey rides, whilst the more genteel North Bay is home to several parks and grand Victorian buildings. The whole family will want to take a trip on the miniature North Bay Railway, which will take you to Sea Life Centre and to the Historic Water Chute and Boating Lake.

Filey is a small traditional seaside town, home to an award-winning museum and a nature reserve that is a haven for wild birds. The town is situated at the eastern end of The Cleveland Way, a long- distance footpath that skirts the Yorkshire Moors and has many beautiful walks with stunning views to offer. Kids will love visiting the Alpamare waterpark for all kinds of aquatic fun, with slides, waves and much more to enjoy.

Within easy reach is the famous Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, which has something to offer every member of the family, from thrilling white-knuckle rides to children's entertainment. For something really out of the ordinary, pay a visit to Pesky Husky, where you can take part in a kennel tour followed by walk or even a trek with these charismatic dogs.
