Sandy Bay Cottage is positioned in an exclusive holiday village, Close to the Victorian seaside town of Filey. It is a lovely modern cottage that has been tastefully furnished and decorated to a very good standard offering perfect accommodation to couples and families with pets looking for a seaside holiday. The resort has its own pub, coffee shop, pharmacy and leisure facilities on site where you can have unlimited use of the indoor 25 metre swimming pool with child’s pool, steam room and sauna included in the price using the leisure pass from the cottage; (gym use and other activities are at an additional cost). The site is set within spectacular scenery overlooking the sea with direct pedestrian access to the glorious 6-mile Blue Flag Filey beach (approx ¾ mile from the property) as well as 100 acres of pasture, lakes and woodland. It is situated in a central position making it easy to explore the many beautiful coastal resorts close by including Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington. There is golf nearby. Shop 1 mile, pub ¼ mile and restaurant 2 miles.

About the local area

Filey is only a few miles away and boasts of one of the best beaches in the country with excellent sand for building sand castles and children just love to be able to spend hours down on the beach and in the sea. Filey also has an unspoilt seafront with a few childrens rides, cafes and shops and an amusement arcade. There are also many activities for all ages including swimming, sailing, surfing, pony rides and fishing trips. The area is also ideal for keen walkers and cyclists and the famous Cleveland Way starts/finishes at Filey Brigg. Families come back year after year to savour the town’s charms. Flamborough Head has many amazing places to visit from the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs, Thornwick bay, North Landing, Selwicks Bay, South Landing, Danes Dyke and Sewerby. The picturesque village of Hunmanby is well worth a visit and only 2 miles away and lies directly between Scarborough and Bridlington on the A165. The village is surrounded by stunning scenery and beautiful landscapes and has always proved popular with visitors.

Filey has been a seaside resort since Edwardian times and a fishing village for much longer. The beach is lined with a historical promenade from where the beauty of the dramatic Filey Brigg can be seen.

A family run attraction with lots to see and do. Lavender fields, nature walks, tea room and giftshop selling unique gifts.

Scarborough Castle

This 12th Century castle conceals over 2,500 years of turbulent history. It is said the King Richard III enjoyed the view from the battlements so much that he still walks them today! Specially constructed viewing platforms offer visitors wonderful views of the coastline and town.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway

One of the country's most popular steam railways, covering 18 miles between the market town of Pickering and the village of Grosmont, travelling through the heart of the North York Moors National Park.

Stephen Joseph Theatre

The theatre has a national and international reputation and is home to Alan Ayckbourn, the world's most performed living playwright. A backstage tour lasting about 45 minutes can be booked by contacting them.
