Description

Hutton Buscel is the quintessential Yorkshire village beautifully kept and with wonderful walks right on your doorstep, situated on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The Barn is a detached property, adjacent to the owners home, which has been skilfully converted to a very good standard with a galleried bedroom overlooking the living area. The cottage benefits from underfloor heating on the ground floor and there is a cosy wood burner, perfect for those cooler evenings. The patio doors lead out to a pretty enclosed courtyard. The cottage is just 6½ miles from Scarborough and just a short drive from Filey and Flamborough Head. Inland there are the market towns of Pickering and Malton, both hosting busy market days once a week. Pickering is also home to the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway. Catch the steam train from Pickering to Whitby stopping off at Goathland, home to the popular TV programme Heartbeat. Yorkshire is famous for its stately homes and within a short drive you can visit Castle Howard, Sledmere House and Sewerby Hall. All of them are well worth a visit during your stay. York with its magnificent Minster and abundance of museums, theatres and galleries is an hour away by car. Beach 6½ miles. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

About the local area

Scarborough is situated at the southern end of the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and, together with Filey, offers beautiful beaches, coastal walks and a variety of entertainment for the whole family.

Scarborough is a town of two halves, with South Bay full of amusement arcades, fish and chip shops and donkey rides, whilst the more genteel North Bay is home to several parks and grand Victorian buildings. The whole family will want to take a trip on the miniature North Bay Railway, which will take you to Sea Life Centre and to the Historic Water Chute and Boating Lake.

Filey is a small traditional seaside town, home to an award-winning museum and a nature reserve that is a haven for wild birds. The town is situated at the eastern end of The Cleveland Way, a long- distance footpath that skirts the Yorkshire Moors and has many beautiful walks with stunning views to offer. Kids will love visiting the Alpamare waterpark for all kinds of aquatic fun, with slides, waves and much more to enjoy.

Within easy reach is the famous Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, which has something to offer every member of the family, from thrilling white-knuckle rides to children's entertainment. For something really out of the ordinary, pay a visit to Pesky Husky, where you can take part in a kennel tour followed by walk or even a trek with these charismatic dogs.
