Description

With views out to sea and Filey Bay from the living room window, and 5 miles of golden sands on your doorstep, The Beach House is great for a family holiday. Watch the horses do their early morning canter through the waves or see the fishing boats in the distance for the early morning catch. The sun setting in an evening on the cliffs towards Flamborough make for a stunning red glow bouncing off the cliffs. You can walk along the beach into Filey, or have a great time with the family dogs with lots of space for them to run. This detached bungalow has a delightful private garden for the family and the dogs to enjoy, along with a seating area and a summerhouse. Walk down the lane and you are on the beach, perfect! There are two holiday villages just a short walk away and you can use some of the facilities at these centres.
The town of Filey is very popular and guests return year on year. Quieter than its neighbour, the town of Scarborough, it still has lots to offer and provides all the local amenities, with shops, a bank, local pubs and restaurants. Scarborough and Whitby are to the north, and to the south is the traditional seaside resort of Bridlington. The bungalow is a perfect base to visit the North Yorkshire Moors, the east coast and the Yorkshire Wolds. The market towns of Beverley, Driffield, Pickering and Malton are a short drive away, and you can’t come to Yorkshire without visiting York, voted every year in the top 10 cities to visit. A vibrant city with lots of cobbled streets, street entertainers, cafés and independent shops. The Cleveland Way finishes in Filey, so for those of you who enjoy walking, you have chance to walk part of it along the cliff tops. Beach 200 yards. Shops 1 mile, pubs and restaurants 1½ miles.

About the local area

Scarborough is situated at the southern end of the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and, together with Filey, offers beautiful beaches, coastal walks and a variety of entertainment for the whole family.

Scarborough is a town of two halves, with South Bay full of amusement arcades, fish and chip shops and donkey rides, whilst the more genteel North Bay is home to several parks and grand Victorian buildings. The whole family will want to take a trip on the miniature North Bay Railway, which will take you to Sea Life Centre and to the Historic Water Chute and Boating Lake.

Filey is a small traditional seaside town, home to an award-winning museum and a nature reserve that is a haven for wild birds. The town is situated at the eastern end of The Cleveland Way, a long- distance footpath that skirts the Yorkshire Moors and has many beautiful walks with stunning views to offer. Kids will love visiting the Alpamare waterpark for all kinds of aquatic fun, with slides, waves and much more to enjoy.

Within easy reach is the famous Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, which has something to offer every member of the family, from thrilling white-knuckle rides to children's entertainment. For something really out of the ordinary, pay a visit to Pesky Husky, where you can take part in a kennel tour followed by walk or even a trek with these charismatic dogs.
