About the local area

The centre of the village is just a one minute walk, and is famous for its Bronte connections, attracting tourists from all over the world. The Bronte sisters were brought up at ’The Parsonage’, which is now open to tourists. The centre of the village boasts a very quaint cobbled street, with traditional wares, gift shops and tea rooms in abundance. The picturesque moors that provide the back drop for Haworth are perfect for walkers, and many historians like to explore the areas that were reputed to give the Bronte sisters inspiration for ’Wuthering Heights’.
Haworth is perfectly situated for exploring the wider area, with the famous dales town of Skipton just a short drive away. Skipton is a traditional buzzing dales market town, where stalls line the streets four days out of seven. For those of you who enjoy a little ’serious’ cycling, The Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way starts and ends in Skipton, leading cyclists on a wonderful scenic 130 mile circular route around this picturesque part of the world.  A little further north is the famous spa town of Harrogate, famous for its gardens and up market shopping. Not to mention a real Yorkshire treat - Betty’s Tea rooms - well worth a visit after a bust day exploring the area.
