About the local area

Nearby The Three Peaks offers challenging hiking over Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside where a circular route takes in the summit of each peak and usually starts from the village of Horton in Ribblesdale. The Pennine Way can be accessed locally and is less arduous but throughly enjoyable, offering superb scenery. Whilst visiting the area, a trip on The Settle to Carlisle railway line is a must (accessed from the village station), or mountain biking, bird watching and potholing may be enjoyed.
