Kissing Tree Cottage is an old miner’s terraced cottage dating back to the 1800s, which has been lovingly restored and modernised, making it a perfect place for a romantic break or a family holiday. The living room benefits from a wood burner and Smart TV, and also has French doors overlooking the peaceful garden which, due to the old boundaries, is at an angle to the left of the French doors, at the rear of the property. The private garden is ideal for relaxing in and enjoying a drink. Many different types of birds visit, and there’s a chiminea if it gets chilly, and a wonderful summerhouse for relaxing in as well.
Middleton Tyas is a small, thriving village in beautiful North Yorkshire. It enjoys a tranquil, rural setting and yet is only a mile or so east of the A1 at Scotch Corner. The village pub is very popular with tourists and locals alike; it serves wonderful home-cooked food, and the friendly landlord is sure to offer a warm welcome. The historic town of Richmond is just 10 minutes away with its stunning castle, Museum of the Green Howards, Georgian theatre, leisure centre and swimming pool, and many good quality restaurants and bars dotted about the town centre. Stroll along the River Swale towards Easby Abbey and enjoy the history around this English Heritage Site. The Wainwright Coast to Coast walk runs nearby. Durham city is alive with an eclectic mix of history and attractions from the dramatic cathedral to the cobbled shopping area. Another historic beauty in the area is Castle Bolton where Mary Queen of Scots was held for six months.
