Nestled in an elevated position in the heart of Swaledale, Windyridge commands breathtaking uninterrupted views across the sweeping valley in all directions. Refurbished to a particularly high standard, the cottage offers a cosy welcome with the benefit of wood burning stoves in both the lounge and dining room along with the warmth of under floor heating beneath the tiled floors. A spacious utility room off the kitchen is perfect for boots, coats and miscellaneous bits and pieces. Windyridge is a perfect base for both families and couples alike with the bedrooms offering a King size bed in the master bedroom, a double bedroom and a twin room. A garden and patio at the front of the cottage takes advantage of the stunning views and young children must be strictly supervised in this area as there is a steep drop into the field below.

About the local area

Low Row enjoys the advantage of a village Inn which serves excellent gastro food and is only a short stroll from the cottage. Swaledale is enjoyed by a multitude of visitors enjoying the outdoors as the area is surrounded by excellent walks and hikes leading through the Yorkshire Dales National Park into Arkengarthdale. The area is perfect for exploring with the bustling town of Reeth some 4 miles, or venture down into Wensleydale and visit the market towns of Hawes and Leyburn. For the children The Forbidden Corner with its Labyrinth of tunnels and chambers should not be missed.

Richmond Castle

Richmond Castle, on a cliff above the River Swale near the town of Richmond is believed to be one of the oldest stone-built castles surviving today. The most impressive and best preserved area of the castle is the Great Keep, which stands over 100 feet tall.

Bolton Castle

Completed in 1399, Bolton Castle has a rich past including connections with Richard III and Mary Queen of Scots who was imprisoned here in 1568 under orders from Elizabeth I. Open all year round.

River Bain
